RCIA: THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
The
RCIA program is an invitation from the Faithful who make up the community of the
Church to those who have been led by the Holy Spirit to seek a deeper union with
God. The Church invites all those who are seeking the love of God to explore
their faith-journey within our parish community. We seek to invite, also, those
who have been baptized in the Catholic Faith and who have been away from the
Church or who have not completed the Sacraments of Initiation, to join with us
in exploring the depth of God’s love for us as it is expressed in the life of
faith we lead as members of His Body, the Church.
The RCIA process is not just for those who seek fuller
communion within the Church, however. The witness of the faithful community is a
very important part of the formation, in prayer and faith, of those who want to
become full members of the Church. As such, we should pray for those who are
seeking deeper knowledge of their faith, and we should support them by example.
The rites which take place throughout the year are meant to be powerful symbols
for those who have already been fully initiated into the faith. We are on the
faith-journey together. We all travel the same road with the Savior. We should
continue, then to learn and grow in that precious gift of faith which the
Church, through generations, has preserved and passed on to us.

the Catholic Faith teaches; please contact the RCIA coordinator in your parish.
Prayer partners and sponsors may be needed as well. So if you are interested in
sharing your faith with someone, please let us know. And, if you are interested
in furthering your knowledge of the faith we profess, don’t hesitate to give
us a call. All are welcome.
